Two Southampton Professors are made Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences

The Academy of Social Sciences announced last Friday that it has conferred the award of Fellow on 33 leading social scientists.

The two Southampton Professors who were conferred the award of Fellow were:

Professor Yehuda Baruch, Professor of Management, who has advanced the field of human resource management (HRM), with particular interests in career studies and international HRM.

Professor Jane Falkingham, Professor of Demography and International Social Policy, due to her particular interests in intergenerational transfers and relationships, and the economics and inequalities of ageing and the lifecourse that have brought her to the forefront of demography.

The recipients have a wide range of expertise in the social sciences, including management, sociology, psychology, politics, geography and law. These Fellows have made a substantial contribution to wider social science in a variety of contexts, including in higher education, government and learned societies.
